Request a Transfer
If you are a Women’s Pioneer resident and would like to request a move, we can support you.
About Internal Transfers
We operate internal transfers for our residents who are seeking to move home to another Women’s Pioneer property. This differs from a mutual exchange where you can swap homes with a resident of any social housing provider.
Transfers are dependent on the availability of a suitable property, meaning we cannot provide a time frame for your transfer application. It is important to note that the waiting list for an internal transfer is very long and can often take years to find a suitable home. A mutual exchange may be a quicker option if you wish to move as you can access a wider range of properties that may suit your needs.
Transfers are prioritised based on urgent housing or medical needs. If you are at immediate risk of harm in your current property, please contact customer services. If you have an urgent or medical need to move, please complete the transfer form and highlight these issues. When you contact us, we will request supporting documentation to review your request to move, this may include OT assessments amongst other information.
To be eligible for a transfer, you must:
- Not have current arrears on your rent account. Any arrears must be cleared if offered a new property.
- Not have been transferred to a different property within the last 12 months.
- Not be on a starter tenancy.
Please note, our properties primarily consist of studio and 1-bed homes. We rarely have any larger properties available.
When you apply for a transfer, please consider that we have very limited stock available and we cannot guarantee when a transfer will be possible. We would encourage you to explore other options such as a mutual exchange to maximise your opportunity to move.
Please take a look at our Allocations and Lettings Policy to find out more about Transfers at WPH.
