Our Developments
At Women’s Pioneer Housing, our vision is to support all single women in London in accessing safe, secure, and affordable home.
To support in this vision, we are working on two major developments to provide over 160 homes for women in London. These developments began on site in 2024 and are due for completion in 2026.
162 Homes Under Development
Brooke House
The original estate at Brook House in Ealing was built in the 1930s, with additional homes built in the 1970s. However, many of these homes were no longer fit for modern living standards and were not suitable for refurbishment.
We strongly believe that providing good-quality, affordable homes for women is critically important. To meet this need, we set ourselves ambitious growth plans with our pioneering development in Ealing.
The new homes in development at the site of Brook House will provide a safe, secure, and genuinely affordable place to call home.
The redevelopment will replace 39 homes with 102 homes in a fifteen-storey tower block, all to be let at social rent. The estate, formerly called Brook House, has been amended to Brooke House, a subtle reference to Emma Brooke, an often-forgotten novelist and campaigner for the rights of women.
Our newly named development, Brooke House, started on site in February 2024 with progress during the year advancing rapidly. In May 2025, construction achieved a milestone reaching the final storey of the tower. At an event to commemorate this milestone, resident Board members, WPH staff, Ealing council and partners attended a Topping Out ceremony.
Brooke House is an example of our mission, and we are proud to be working in partnership with Ealing Council and with L&Q, one of the largest social housing providers in the country. L&Q supported Women’s Pioneer Housing through the planning, design and delivery phases of the project. Further, partnership with Ealing council and L&Q is an example of how we tackled the commissioning processes that often slows down funding for specialist housing for women.

Wood Lane
Women’s Pioneer Housing acquired land at Wood Lane in 1927, previously providing 36 studio homes for single women alongside our Head Office. These homes had reached the end of their life, and in 2018 we entered into an innovative venture with HUB and Bridges Fund Management to redevelop the site.
The new Wood Lane development will deliver 60 brand-new one-bedroom homes for women alongside a new head office for WPH. Our new offices will enable us to work more flexibly and collaboratively, so that we can offer our services in ways that better meets residents’ needs This development will enable us to continue our vital mission of providing secure, affordable homes that empower women to live independently in London.
Alongside our new homes and head office, the project includes 209 co-living homes developed on behalf of City Developments Limited (CDL), with extensive shared amenities. The co-living homes will be owned and managed by CDL.
This development at Wood Lane represents an exciting new chapter for Women’s Pioneer Housing. This landmark development sets out a new benchmark for mixed-use, socially driven housing in west London, and we’re proud to be part of it.
This development began on site in February 2024 and we were thrilled to celebrate the Topping Out of this scheme in October 2025, demonstrating a major milestone in reaching the top story of this building. The development aims to be completed in Autumn 2026.
