General Needs Housing
Women’s Pioneer Housing are dedicated to our mission to offer single women access to safe, secure, and good quality affordable homes and services that enable women to live a good quality of life.
Despite the many changes in housing, the number of affordable homes for single women is still inadequate and our work is as important now as it was when we were formed in 1920. We are committed to provide these much-needed homes to women across London.
Our General Needs Homes
We own and manage around 1,000 homes across 9 London Boroughs, primarily in West London. The majority of these homes are General Needs Housing. Most of our properties are studio or one-bedroom flats in large, converted Victorian or Edwardian buildings. These properties are vital in supporting single women in accessing housing.
Where do we Operate?
We operate across the following London Local Authorities:
- Kensington and Chelsea
- Hammersmith and Fulham
- Wandsworth
- Harrow
- Camden
- Hillingdon
- Westminster
- Kingston upon Thames
- Ealing

How do we allocate General Needs Housing
We work directly with Local Authorities and the majority of our properties are allocated through the Local Authority's Housing Register.
We also operate our public waiting list for women who are not eligible for housing support with their local authority, but are in need of a safe, affordable home. You can read more about this here: ‘Our Housing Waiting List’.
