We want you to be able to live safely, securely and peacefully in your home. So we take any reports of disruptive or disturbing behaviour very seriously.

Anti-social behaviour covers various activities which cause, or are likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress.

Such behaviour includes violence or threats of violence, verbal abuse, drug taking in shared living areas, drunk and disorderly conduct, criminal activity, unreasonable and persistent noise nuisance, out-of-control animals, graffiti and vandalism.

Remember that activities resulting from different people’s lifestyles would not be considered anti-social behaviour. These might include a crying baby, children playing, strong cooking smells, doors banging and the sound of washing machines or vacuum cleaners.

We ask our residents to be considerate of their neighbours, such as not making a lot of noise especially late at night, but also to be tolerant of each other too.

Please speak to your neighbours if you are bothered by the noise they are making and explain why it is a problem for you. If that doesn’t work, have a chat with your Housing Officer to see what can be done.
