Application process

Please read carefully before you apply.

Our applications open every year early in April for two weeks. Existing applicants need to re-apply alongside new applicants.

If we house everyone, we may re-open the lists during the year and publicise when that will be.

We have three different types of housing:

  • Studio flats (with some shared facilities, including the toilet shared with 3 women) at Collingham Gardens, Earls Court, for single women aged 18-34.
  • Self-contained studio flats for single women aged over 35-59.
  • Older Women’s Housing self-contained studio flats, for women aged 60 plus who can live independently.

Eligibility

The application process aims to help women who need but do not have access to social housing through other routes. You must be:

  • not a home owner or have a share of a property anywhere else
  • a single woman
  • earning under £40,000 a year
  • have less than £16,000 in savings
  • willing to consider living in any area we have homes
  • reasonably mobile (most flats offered will be on higher floors)
  • not living in housing association or council accommodation, or be eligible for housing assistance from the local authority
  • able to prove your Right to Rent in the UK

You must also:

  • have a need for women’s housing

If you accept an offer, you need to move in two days after sign-up.

If you turn down an offer, we’ll remove your name from the list.

How to apply

Our applications will open on this webpage early April each year for two weeks.

You can then complete a short form online, detailing how you meet our eligibility criteria and your current housing situation.

How we prioritise applicants

We prioritise applicants based on their current housing situation and need for women’s housing. This will include considering how long they have lived in unsuitable accommodation and how urgent their need is.

What happens next?

Before we formally offer you a property, you need to prove:

  • you meet our eligibility criteria
  • where you’re currently living
  • you can pay the rent and meet the terms of your tenancy
  • you do not owe any rent.

We may also ask for a reference from your current landlord.
