Resident Engagement

Resident engagement is about responding, acting, and ensuring residents’ voices drive the decisions we make. We are dedicated to creating meaningful, transparent, and inclusive opportunities for residents to actively contribute to the direction of WPH.

Sharing your experience of living in your home supports us to provide the best services to meet your needs. Your voice is important to us, bringing a deeper understanding of the real needs of residents in our community, allowing us to shape services to best support you.

Our Resident Engagement Strategy

We are committed to building stronger relationships with residents, improving communication, and offering flexible and diverse ways to get involved. Our Resident Engagement Strategy 2025-2028, co-created with residents, outlines our approach to involve residents in shaping services and making decisions.

We are incredibly appreciative of the residents who dedicated time and energy to reviewing this strategy, offering valuable feedback to ensure we offer clear and inclusive opportunities for engagement.

Please click here to read our full Resident Engagement Strategy.

The vision for this strategy is to:

  • Engage with more residents and provide more opportunities to share feedback in ways that suit diverse needs
  • Empower residents to have a greater influence and say in the way we deliver our services
  • Strive to become a truly ‘Residents First’ organisation
  • Comply with regulatory standards and key legislation
  • Actively engage and listen to residents
  • Improve the way we communicate with residents

The four broad themes of the strategy are:

  1. Greater collaboration and more robust partnerships with residents
  2. Resident-led scrutiny leading to service improvement
  3. Improved communication with residents
  4. More diverse engagement opportunities

Resident Engagement and Scrutiny Panel (RESP)

Our Resident Engagement and Scrutiny Panel (RESP) works together to make positive changes in our services and performance.

RESP hold regular and informal discussions to discuss our services, ensuring we hear feedback directly from residents to help us understand how we can best improve our organisation to meet residents' needs.

RESP have recently been active in reviewing several of our key service areas, creating real strategic and operational changes through resident feedback. This has included reviews of policies and procedures regarding estate management, safeguarding, aids and adaptations, complaints, and security improvements, among others.

We are truly thrilled to have such clear and strong feedback from residents on our policies, strategies, and services. All feedback from residents and RESP improves our understanding of how WPH services affect you as the residents, allowing us to make improvements that best support you.

RESP focuses on representing residents and ensuring we deliver high-quality services and homes to all, driving positive change across our organisation.

How to Join RESP

If you are interested in making meaningful improvements to our services and providing vital feedback direct from your experiences as a resident, we encourage you to join RESP!

We are committed to making sure members of RESP represent people with different experiences, living across areas of London and in different property types. We truly value the varied experiences of our residents, and want to ensure all voices are heard.

If you are interested in joining RESP, please complete the RESP Application Form and return this to feedback@womenspioneer.co.uk

If you want to have a conversation about your application, RESP, or have any further questions, please contact feedback@womenspioneer.co.uk.

Once we receive your application, our Resident Engagement and Resolutions Officer will contact you to arrange for an informal interview. This is an open discussion with staff members and current RESP members, and this ensures you can ask any questions you may have. This is usually held online over Zoom or Teams to best accommodate you. We will be as flexible as possible around arrangements and timings to suit you as best we can.

For more information about RESP and how to join, read our 'Joining RESP' leaflet here.

Reasons to Join RESP

Have Your Say – We’re Listening

Your voice matters. You live the day-to-day reality of your home and community, so who is better to tell us what’s working and what needs to change? Your feedback helps us make better decisions, and we’re here to listen, learn, and act on what you tell us.

Help Us Improve What We Do

You know your home and neighbourhood better than anyone else. By sharing your experience, you can help us understand what real improvements look like – whether that’s around repairs, safety, anti-social behaviour, or anything else that affects your daily life. Your insight helps us build stronger, safer communities together.

Make an Impact with RESP

Getting involved in RESP means going beyond everyday feedback. It gives you a chance to shape the bigger picture – the long-term plans and policies that affect all WPH residents. It’s your chance to help steer the direction we’re heading.

Keep Us Accountable

We are dedicated to doing what we say we will do, and we want you to hold us accountable for this. We will listen to your feedback to ensure our services are fair, transparent, and truly reflect the needs of residents.

Build Your Confidence and Learn New Skills

Take part in meetings, events, and discussions to grow your skills, from communication and teamwork to problem-solving and planning. It can also be a great confidence-boost for both personal and professional growth or future opportunities.

Connect With Others

Getting involved also means getting to know more people in your community. It’s a great way to meet new friends, share ideas, and build a stronger sense of connection with your neighbours.

Wider Engagement Opportunities

Residents will always be central to our work. We are committed to maintaining open communication with all members of our communities, ensuring there are opportunities to engage with us and provide feedback on our services.

We understand that life is busy and you may not have the time to attend regular meetings or commit to regular engagement. We want to ensure that if you want to engage with us, we provide flexible and low-commitment ways for you to get involved.

We aim to make engagement accessible, flexible, and meaningful, without adding pressure or expectation. Every instance of engagement helps to shape the future of your home and our services. Every interaction counts.

Ways you can get involved

There are several opportunities to get involved with infrequent engagement, on your terms. This may include:

  • Polls and Surveys: Share your views in just a few minutes by submitting a survey response on a specific service area. We can send these via email or post.
  • One-Off Feedback Events: We want to hear from you to shape the services that matter the most without long-term commitment. This may include feedback events on local services, repairs, ASB, and more.

If you are interested in engaging with us on an informal or infrequent basis, we would like to hear from you. Please fill out our ‘Ad-Hoc Engagement Form’ to express interest in upcoming events, surveys, and feedback opportunities.

If you have any questions about this form or what our informal and infrequent engagement opportunities look like, please reach out to feedback@womenspioneer.co.uk
